Leigh-Anne was my coach when I was a client at The Foundation Recovery Centre from May 2016 to August 2016. She also gave lectures on recovery wellness to groups I attended as part of my treatment.
Leigh-Anne was instrumental in my recovery. She was encouraging, loving and supportive. But firm which was necessary. She always believed in me and treated me with dignity and respect. She helped me to build my self-esteem, self-worth and confidence in every area of my life. She also encouraged momentum through being steadfast and sure in goal setting which encouraged fast, constant growth. I still apply this.
I found it easy to build a trustworthy, dependable, healthy relationship with Leigh-Anne really fast. She is relatable, genuine and caring. She is a fantastic listener and often when I got caught up in the details of a story, she got to the heart of my issues by hearing what was un-said which helped me to get perspective and tackle the root of the problem. Most importantly, she always assisted me in really dealing with the problem and moving on. This was key in re-discovering my own true identity, getting rid of all my baggage and false beliefs and becoming the strong, confident, free person I am today.
When I get caught up in negative thoughts and become aware of what is happening, I reflect back on her coaching and teachings and mentorship and immediately get out of a dysfunctional, destructive mental and emotional cycle. Leigh-Anne taught me about mind-sight and awareness about my behaviours and thinking which cause self-sabotage. I’ve overcome it completely and always manage to turn negative into positive now.
She played a vital role in helping my family as a whole to tackle my recovery in a mature, sensitive way. She also acts confidentially and responsibly with each member of the family and followed up on our well-being and progress, always making herself available to aid and support in any way she can. My whole family benefitted from her being such a huge player in my recovery process.
What I love most about Leigh-Anne is her passion for learning and education. She always shares her personal learnings about personal development which she constantly works on in her own life.
She keeps herself informed of many aspects of research and information regarding addiction treatment and discoveries in the medical field. Also about a healthy, well balance life in general, not only in addiction recovery.
She is authentic, highly intelligent and compassionate. Because she is positive and forward thinking, she was so helpful in guiding me to get out of a “stuck” and “sick” mindset into a wellness space. Her personality and character is inspiring in this regard because that is how she operates in her own life.
Leigh-Anne is professional at all times. She presents herself beautifully and is eloquent and well-spoken.
Whenever we have requested any administrative information from her like progress reports or other information, she acts immediately.
I am blessed and grateful that Leigh-Anne was part of my journey. She played a big role in helping me to become the productive, fulfilled, happy individual I am now living a meaningful, healthy life.
Leigh-Anne Brierley has been my recovery coach for seven months. During this period, I have made significant progress with my substance abuse disorder. This is a disorder that I have been struggling with for nine years and have tried a vast array of treatments and rehabilitation centres.
I believe it is Leigh-Anne’s unique insight into the disorder and its path to recovery that makes her an exceptional recovery coach. She has an ability to empathize and understand that each individuals’ road to addiction and road to recover is different. She is able to link the common factors but identify and highlight individual struggles.
It is with a strong combination of theory, insight and experience that she coaches confidently and is exceptional at what she does.
I have been attending the Recovery Wellness Program at the Foundation Recovery
Clinic for a Gambling Addiction problem that I had in my life for the past 2 years.
Leigh-Anne has been an integral part of the coaching team and her skills as a coach
have helped me to develop a recovery plan that has put my life back on track.
Leigh-Anne’s ability to make clients look for and find their inner recovery gold has
been of great help, through empathy and encouragement and with insight into the
right tools to suggest Leigh-Anne has been phenomenal in terms of helping me to not
only lose my addiction by grow in a space of wellness and help in constantly
improving in all areas of my life.
I met Leigh-Anne at The Foundation Clinic in 2016, having been a full-blown alcoholic. I had no self-esteem, my self-worth was non-existent and I was in an incredibly dark place. Upon entering Sharp and meeting Leigh-Anne she immediately welcomed me with open arms, I felt no judgment, her demeanour was one of strength and understanding, she struck me as a woman that had an inner strength which gave off an energy that in all honesty made me feel she was really there to HELP ME.
Leigh-Anne had a beautiful way of wanting to get to know who I was, who JOHN was, what I liked, what I enjoyed, what made me tick – her interest in my journey was sincere and I felt she had amazing positivity and wonderful insight and this only emanated the fact that Leigh-Anne was there to help and assist me in every way she possibly could. Leigh-Anne is without doubt mentally a very sturdy woman who really understood and could truly grasp the battle I was up against, she was always kind yet firm, outspoken, honest and her utter PASSION for not only her work but the WANT to HELP me in my addiction came across very strongly and BEST of all this passion she has comes across very naturally.
Every lecture was one of clarity – I found them interesting, her candid honestly led me to feel I could trust her and even though I was fighting a massive battle she always told me “how it was” whether I wanted to hear it or not BUT she always managed to do it in a manner of respect & it always came from a place of wisdom, experience and the drive to want to help me. Leigh-Anne has the strength of will & a clear solid firmness of purpose in what it involves to help people in addiction – taking time to see WHO I was, her aptness to read and connect with me was amazing, she took that last spark I was holding onto and made it shine.
Her prowess and her attitude and heart felt dedication towards her work is radiant, her natural capability to “get” me as a person was always thoughtful, her words tactful and meaningful, always insightful to how and what it was I needed to do….and I did it, her drive drove me and has led me to a life of sobriety and happiness. To this day, I know I can always pick up the phone and check in, its not work to her, its something far greater, Leigh-Anne has a very special, genuine love for what she does.
I have known Leigh-Anne for approximately two years if not longer. Leigh-Anne was appointed as my coach at The Foundation Clinic and I was amazed at the rapport we established from the beginning. Having been a chronic heroin addict for 15 years, Leigh-Anne had her work cut out for her. I felt that no one really got me, until I started working with Leigh-Anne.
Leigh-Anne took me through the phases of addiction, taught me the various models and allowed ME to do the work. Leigh-Anne has ALWAYS been professional in her approach and guided me instead of directing me. I was and still am able to be totally honest with no judgement at all. This made my journey more comforting as I was able to build a trusting relationship.
Leigh-Anne plays a vital role in my day to day recovery as well. Being a facilitator of the Wellness Group at The Foundation I get to see Leigh-Anne at least twice a week. Her insight and depth is unbelievable and she she is able to manage the ebb and flow of the container with such ease.
I have also been fortunate enough to complete modules 1 through 3 of the recovery coaching training. Again Leigh-Anne arrived with a bounty of knowledge and is a true teacher. One of the best investments I could have made in myself.
The beauty of Leigh-Anne’s method is that she can be emotional as well. Allowing for empathy and sympathy. The feeling is not a clinical one, but a relationship set on boundaries and sincere care.
Leigh-Anne has been an integral part of my recovery. I can, and never will be able to ‘unlearn’ what I was taught. I am truly grateful to have someone of this calibre involved not only in my life, but in my recovery.
I end this by saying thank you Leigh-Anne. Thank you for walking through some parts of my journey where angels feared to tread.
Leigh-Anne has coached me through a range of proactive and preventative measures on how to deal with life stress and every day occurrences that can appear challenging. She has motivated and encouraged me to realise that I can be more than what I am. She has slowly built up my self-esteem and helped me to take chances that will inevitably create my own personal growth.
Through her compassion and understanding she has enabled me to grow both in my personal capacity and in my life in general. The way she coaches ensures that I come up with the options and answers on my own help with increasing my self-esteem. She has taught me about mindfulness, mindsight and many other tools and to help me through my life. Leigh-Anne has never minimized my issues and has helped put them into perspective and helped me to come up with my own solutions by myself.
Leigh-Anne has a great sense of humor and always manages to read situations appropriately.
